Funtech was a cool course which sometimes cheers me up on Saturday Mornings, the reason why I gave it a 4/5 was because the first term, when we were learning about Photoshop, I didn't think it was for me, I was only good at editing photos and pictures, I even help my dad edit his photos, but I just feel like the other things were very confusing, although just recently, I have been drawing a feather on photoshop which has made me more confident, although we finished photoshop long ago. My mother encouraged me to make animations with Adobe but I could only make simple ones with motion tweening, so I did the harder way and half finished a walking bear's animation in which I lost interest in. I must admit, my favourite adobe app has to be Adobe Dreamweaver, I've created my own website just for a novel I'm writing on word. I created the website which contains information about my novel and I pasted the link in the prologue chapter of my document.

i really liked my first year with funtech the experence was and memrible i didnt really like film editing but i liked music makeing i liked making a game i hope i can stay in the same grope :) also indigo he is really nice i hope i can go with him again bye thx :)

Overall, the course content was good, and I learnt a lot of stuff, which was new, and seemed interesting. Chris was also helpful in explaining things I don't understand. However, the coding bit was a bit tricky and sometimes the lessons (and videos) went a bit too fast. I look forward for the next

Pure coder Review

I really liked the Pure coder 1 class and most of the classes were interesting, and it's fun to think about how some games would work with Pycharm, I had a good time with my classmates and teacher. Happy summer.

PC01 was a good and fun course and content was taught well

The content of this course was interesting and I learned how to code a lot of different elements such as creating a server and clients.
Each lesson was a little bit too short for the content we had to cover so we were sometimes behind the unit number

All of the lessons have been highly engaging, the teachers interesting and the content is succinct and understandable. Lessons are long, but time seems to fly while learning. Overall, lessons have been very good, and the work is covered well. However, the homework has very high redo standards

However, the homework has very high redo standards (not even 90% overall, 90% for each question), and necessitates multiple redos for each submission.
This can easily pile up and be demotivating.
But, overall, the course has been interesting, covered well, and is great.

Despite that however I find it a bit cumbersome to have type reviews every lesson as it is hard to give meaningful feedback and it is a tad bit annoying. Otherwise from that, this was a really great experience and am glad to have been a part of it.

My year at FunTech

It has been a brilliant year with topic ranging from Music to Film Editing to coding platformer games. Our teacher, has been super kind, helpful and very nice. We learnt a lot, and I have learnt a lot.

Funtech PureCoder Level 2

It was very fun. I learnt a lot about python and I can now code fluently in python. We made many projects and we learnt about classes, Tkinter, Graphs, Queues and Stacks.

Interesting but difficult

An interesting course about gaming in python but a lot of code needs to be memorised. Quite a bit of content and time needs to be spent learning it all. It is very intriguing to learn.

I did get lost along the way a few times but I understood what was going on in general quite confidently just the little small things were what sometimes confused me.
Can't wait to continue FunTech next year, though that isn't Purecoder, I'm certain it will be just as good.
I think what would be cool would be to have a game we plan on building in the end, and adding to the same file(s) every week and slowly building up to one big game at the end, rather than tons of smaller units and files.
Thanks a lot for a great year in which we covered a lot of content.

I really enjoyed learning about game development this year, I have learnt a lot of new things and ways to apply knowledge to solve problems I previously would not have thought of. My tutor explained things very well and clearly and even on some of my projects not as relevant to the course. I am glad

I liked it all a lot but i didn't like term one

Funtech is very fun

I feel like over the year, I have learned a lot due to Funtech whether it be easy or hard material but overall, the whole year has been great. I loved every second of it (apart from the seconds when I struggled) and my tutor was great fun to learn with. I love Funtech and hope to take another course

purecoder 2 review

i had done some other funtech courses which made school computer science very easy for me, and purecoder 2 has taught me more advanced things. our tutor helped us and stayed after class a bit to make sure we had the code and understood it and taught well.

the year at funtech was really beneficial for me. I learnt and spread my understanding of computers and different computer process and what goes on inside of them. it has helped me remember and will be a great impact on me when i do my computer science GCSE's in the future.

Overall, it was good, however, some content may need to be covered slower.

This year I have found the course to be a lot better structured, which is a significant improvement. I appreciate the repeated checks between videos and mini quizzes to check I understand concepts. This year I have found the course to be a lot better structured, which is a significant improvement. I appreciate the repeated checks between videos and mini quizzes to check I understand concepts. However, in the future, I believe that the course would be bettered by having more material for students to look over in their personal time, like a textbook you would have at school to refer to. This would ensure learning as it would allow students to independently look over concepts and consolidate them in their own time, without having to set up a paid consolidation lesson with a tutor every time a problem arises. This would give students more confidence in their lessons, and would provide them with notes to look back to after the course has finished, rather than having to search through - sometimes unannotated - class code.

I have found my 1:1 lessons with Samuel extremely helpful, as I am able to bring up concerns and ask questions immediately, without feeling insecure of peers' judgements. He has been very patient and always answers questions thoroughly, ensuring my understanding. This has been a highly positive change in comparison to some tutors I have had in the past.

I am currently not sure whether I will continue with Funtech next year - though I find the content positively challenging, I acknowledge that I may not have enough time next year to continue the course as I am studying 4 A Levels. Also, I find that though I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons this year, I am not sure as to whether I am willing to gamble my parents' money on lessons next year, as I have not found my previous experiences with Funtech to be fulfilling. However, I will be sure to think over my decision in the coming weeks as I know that I would be interested in taking a STEM subject in university. I very much appreciate Funtech for challenging me in my coding and I am sure that I will continue to further my learning whether or not I decide to stay for another year.

3rd year in Funtech

I like the coding like class like MySQL , Excel and also the HTML programming. But I did not enjoy the Adobe illustrator , animate classes and were not interesting for me.

2D Game Development Course Review

The course was very fun, I enjoyed the Game development and learning to create some games of decent quality. It was often challenging but mostly I managed to understand it all with their help.

Great course. Good teacher.

It was nice to see my video and do my music editing. I really liked making videos. The games was fun and I enjoyed working out the commands.

The course was quite good overall, there were some easy bits, and some challenging bits. But overall it has helped me learn, and was a very good experience.

I really enjoyed learning how to use Unity for the first time. And I really enjoyed my teacher, which helped me a lot when I had some issues. Now I feel that I can start a project of a game and finish it, making it has I want it.

The course overall is good and teaches you how the elements of a game engine is usually composed of and how to apply the knowledge in different areas. However for what you are getting it doesn't feel sufficient and that is what doesn't really please me as it sometimes feels little for what you get.

But most of the time overall the courses do teach stuff and have some examples. But I would like to see some real-life interpretations in what we learn to get an idea of how and what would be useful. Good course and I would recommend it when its improved.
