Now in 4th year

Our son is now in his 4th year of doing Term-Time sessions. It is one of the highlights of his week, and has learnt so much. He is only 15, but now doing university level coding.
Wish schools provided this option, as will be a great skill for anyone in the future.

My son Adam has enrolled on to the CreativeTech course this year after attending two camps in the summer. The term time offering is an excellent product with Adam engaged once a week alongside his normal school routine. He's learning how to use Photoshop which is amazing to see, given he is currently being schooled at home due to the lockdown he is still very enthusiastic when it comes to his weekly lessons and has even been able to use these new skills on work this term, producing what he describes as 'sick' leaflets for his space topic!

FunTech has a great blend of content and fun which keeps kids engaged at the course level, and if he doesn't quite get the lesson then he's ha a couple of extra sessions to go over and make sure the content is nailed. Its simply brilliant.

Excellent! It's been the second virtual camp my son is doing with Funtech and he loves it.

The most amazing experience!

I have booked half-term virtual camps twice with FunTech, for both my children aged 8 and 13.
The tutors connected really well with both of them.
My boys absolutely loved it and, every day, they could not wait to start their session.

* Vidya enjoyed the python classes. * would have preferred two weeks morning only options rather than one week full day option, as it was indeed tiring. My 10 year old enjoyed this course very much. It was structured well and he looked forward to his daily session. He has attention issues and struggles at school, but despite this, managed to engage well with the virtual course and learned a great deal.

I remember getting a call back one evening to check on my son Vir as a follow up of what he learnt in class to make sure his query was answered and understanding was clear.

Fantastic camp experience. My son really enjoyed the tutor who would stay on the call after camp ended to talk to my son about the challenge tasks. At the end of the course, my son had a real love for Python coding and keen to do more courses. Highly recommend the course.

Minecraft with Mods

My daughter attended the two week Minecraft with Mods program. She absolutely loved it (and didn't mind being the only girl!). It was a great blend of being able to spend time playing Minecraft but also creating new items for the game. She would like to do it again.

Termtime class total pro

I would highly recommend. My 8 year old son looks forward to his class every week and has learnt so much. The funtech team are super helpful and always make sure he understands what is being taught.

Good precursor to GCSE

My son had a very enjoyable week learning python virtually and has been enthused to do coding on his own. Most importantly he did this course just prior to starting an IT GCSE and he feels it has given him a good step up. Great trainer, very good at capturing the children’s attention virtually.

Great virtual python course

Excellent course, very well run and the trainer captured the children’s attention - no easy feat virtually. Content was well thought through and the kids learnt a huge amount. More importantly perhaps my son had a very enjoyable week!

Minecraft Engineering Camp

my son thoroughly enjoyed this camp. In particular, using logic gates and exploring all the features of Redstone. This was the well-designed camp, making each session lots of fun.

This python course was amazing and lot of learning. Only negative bit can be it’s a day long course for 5 days, which drains the kids energy level. However during Easter the same course was run as half day course for two weeks, which gives time for them to practice and also not that tiring during

My son really enjoyed the course - the excellent tutor kept him interested and challenged and he learnt a useful new skill, Python programming, during half term. Thanks Funtech!

My son had a lot of fun on the minecraft with mods course and is now really enjoying using his new skills to play imaginatively with Minecraft. The course has helped both his creativity and his technical abilities. We wish there was another more advanced course available to learn even more!

He has been with funtech before so I signed him up for the 1 week virtual camp. At first, I had doubts he would even bother waking up in the mornings and sitting through the lesson till 5pm. To my surprise, every single day he woke up, ready to go and enjoyed every part of the lesson. The tutor knew how well to engage with the students to keep them motivated. My daughter (13 years old) took the Python Coder and then the Python Game Developer, each as two weeks of morning sessions. The two courses complemented each other well in that the Game Developer course picked up where the Coder course left off with minimal repetition.

Learning a programming language can be difficult without an end goal to work to, so it was good that each course culminated in a challenge to build an application. The game she devised during the Game Developer course was impressive - she was really pleased with it and enjoyed explaining how it worked to other people in the family.

Doing each camp as two weeks of half-days suited her because she found the courses quite intense and so was glad of time away from them in the afternoons. She was also impressed with the level of knowledge of the course instructors.

Altogether, the courses have provided her with a firm grounding in the basics of Python with enough knowledge to understand the structure of the language and to write quite complex routines using common commands and variable types..

Alexi loved doing the course. It was well organised, the teacher was punctual and it kept my son interested and stimulated for the whole morning. Alexi learned new things and feels more confident as a result. We'd definitely do a similar course if we can find the right fit for us.
