It has been a very good experience for my daughter. At the beginning she found the pace a bit difficult but thanks to the support she caught up with the class. We will have another Virtual class soon.

We loved the fact that he learnt real life concepts like the logic gates, while having fun with Minecraft which he loves.

When he lost part of his course work, we were so impressed with the responsiveness of the Funtech online helper. Adam his tutor then spent additional time with him prior to his lesson to ensure all his course work was back in place.

My daughter (9) loved the course and found the presenter knowledgable, engaging and approachable. The course itself was detailed and included not only learning about game building but also the mechanics and physics behind how objects moved etc. A fantastic course all round and I would have no hesitation in recommending it! My son really enjoyed being able to do the course from home although as a parent I would have liked him to have got to know the other students on the course, I would imagine they are like-minded people with similar interests.

My son says that he enjoyed experimenting with the props the best and enjoyed the whole experience of the doing the course online. He especially liked the fact that he could work in the mornings and have the afternoon off.

The course was expensive but I didn't mind, especially as I could use childcare vouchers. It felt like money well spent.

It would have been great if this course was the start of some kind of qualification in 3D gaming design as I can see my son doing the next level of this course next Summer or on the next holiday. It would be great if he could eventually gain a qualification from doing a series of courses over a number of holidays or years (similar to ballet where the RAD grades are equivalent to GCSE grades which go higher the more grades you do (grade 1 being equivalent to a D or E at GCSE) - young people can then use these qualifications on their CV when applying for their first jobs).

3D game design camp

My 13 year old son had a great time on the course, he liked the tutors and said they were very helpful and fun to learn from. The content of the course was good and my son came away with a racing game he developed and which he continues to play with and amend.

Learning to write python

Our son found the virtual camp excellent. He was amazed by the tutor and the content of the learning. A good head start for his future in a fun way!

My 14 year old son has done three courses over the summer. He also did Python Coding and Python Game Developer. He said this one (3D Game Design) was the most fun. All of them have kept him fully occupied and he has enjoyed them and learnt from them. We encountered a problem with this one (our fault, not Funtech's) in that my son's laptop was not good enough to download the software and so we swapped him to our main computer. The support and contact from the Funtech team was very helpful, prompt and efficient.

MY 14 year old son said this was "good" and when I asked if he had learnt anything he said "yes". He didn't complain about getting up in the morning to do the course and it kept him fully occupied and so taking all this into consideration I am happy. He did honestly seem to enjoy it. My husband didn't seem to encounter any problems setting the course up and working through the checklist and as with a previous course FunTech ensured we had worked through the checklist before the start date to save time.

My 12 and 9 year old respectively attended a x2 week course, of half days, respectively learning python and scratch. They both already had a basic grounds in scratch, but the eldest had never tried python before.

They both absolutely loved the courses and were enthused to carry on beyond the lesson times. The tutors were fantastic, explaining key concepts and the fundamentals of development at a pace that kept the kids engaged. The example applications were simple, yet instructional and entertaining.

Overall the kids loved it. Half days worked really well and they absolutely want to continue, on future courses.

I found the Funtech website easy to navigate and the instructions on pre-reqs and installation clear. Tutors were awesome (thanks esp go to them); patient and knowledgeable, friendly and both my kids really enjoyed the help, support and guidance.

Would definitely recommend and will definitely be signing the kids up for future virtual and f2f courses.

In 5 days, I managed to go from not knowing anything about python to being able to do if statements, for loops, while loops and so much more. The lessons are quite fun while remaining informative so it keeps me from becoming too bored or too confused. They explain how the computer handles the code you write such as how it reads your code linearly. This helps new students learn more about the computer and how it works, thus making them understand better.
The FunTech Team is extremely supportive and encourages us to explain what is the problem with our code so that we can understand our mistakes and fixing it. They are also extremely nice towards me and my other "class" mates so I don't feel scared to talk to them. Overall, Very good lessons!

Our son Arthur has just completed two weeks of Scratch, he was just on the wrong side of the age recommendations for the course but as his brother was doing a course and he didn't want to miss out we approached FunTech to see if it was possible. As with any request we've had with them they were very supportive and confident that one way or another he would be able to do the course.

When it came down to the course he did struggle a bit to start with, not with the content but with his confidence in asking for help which he struggled with as he can be quite shy. FunTech picked up on this immediately and were in constant contact to ensure Arthur didn't get overwhelmed. At the start of the second week he had a second wobble and after discussions they switch Arthur over to 1-2-1 sessions, after this boy did he fly. Both the tutors he had were fantastic, very knowledgable and patient with all of the kids, stepping in when help was needed, guiding when a few social rules weren't being adhered to.

The fact these courses are delivered virtually is a sign of the current times, however I think even if it wasn't the 'new normal' we wouldn't hesitate to do a virtual course if it was continued to be offered. Two weeks of mornings is just about the perfect amount of time. I think in just about every way FunTech have nailed it. Thank You!

This is the second course out son Adam has taken and he once again had an amazing time! Each day he would proudly show off what he had built, and although I am no expert on Roblox, I couldn't tell the difference between what he had made and what he plays on day to day made by professionals on this platform. I was blown away with what he could now make in the engine. The nicest thing was that his goal now is to take what he has learnt and teach his friends.

Once again FunTech continue to set the bar extremely high with their quality of both course and delivery, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

After almost 6 months out of a formal classroom setting, this 2 week Roblox game design course was a perfect reintroduction to structured learning for my son. The half day timetable with frequent breaks worked perfectly, so he could use his morning energy to engage in learning something fun, with the afternoons to relax. I really hope Funtech will be able to continue to offer 1-2 week virtual camps with half days.
Many thanks to Ivan and the team for providing such a positive learning experience, which I think will really help my son transition back to school after lockdown.

When I booked it, I thought the course seemed expensive but I do think it was well worth the money. My son was so engaged in designing and making his game and he’s learned a lot about the game designing process.
The children in my son’s group were moving at different rates which left my son with a couple of periods where he was waiting for guidance. Funtech recognised this and involved another tutor so that the kids could all continue to make progress.
The course content was great and the technology worked really well.
I’d highly recommend this course.

Interesting material and inspired pupils

I was very impressed with what I saw of the course. A tremendous amount was covered in five days, and it was definitely interesting enough to keep the pupils engaged and enthusiastic for the whole period. The admin and technical support was also superb.

Very good course

While Eloy was a bit bored the first 2 days, mainly because he already knew the basics, I mentioned it and the tutor gave him some extra tasks so he then started to enjoy it more and on the last week he loved it so much that he closed the door so we didn’t disturb him while he was thinking.

It was an enjoyable course for people that is new to program.

I had loads of fun learning programming and you get to make your own program at the end of the lessons.

Holiday Python course

The course has been very fruitful, with an underlying understanding of the basic principles behind the various functions in python due to having already studied Java, I have quite easily learnt many different subjects, e.g. today we learnt Bubble Sort, Searching and the Turtle.

Puts the bad in tech. There is no BAD!

FunTech does make coding more fun and more easy to do! They explain what to do very clearly and step by step. They know what you have learnt and don't bother explaining it again because it would waste time. It is good and I will definitely recommend it.
