Python Course

The course was really fun and interesting. Before this course, I knew nothing about Python but now I am able to make a Rock, Paper, Scissors game which is really cool.

Great week I really enjoyed it!!!

I loved the python course and learnt a lot about how to code in python. I did the course in half term and found as if it was a great helpful and educational way to fill up my half term. For other people I would definitely recommend this course and the instructions given.

In my view, I had a great experience in learning python. This subject cleared my mind a lot and helped me learn new stuff. The most important thing is that I had lots of fun.

I really enjoyed this camp.I learnt a lot about python and it really helped me remember all the concepts I had learnt before. My favourite bit was learning about if statements and loops. The material was easily explained and the teacher taught the topics well. Overall I really enjoyed it

Fun Course

It was really fun and i got to learn lots of different things about coding games i learnt how to make sprites and code them and tell then what to do. This is a really great life skill and i am definitely going to continue coding in future!

I really liked this course overall, the tutor was happy and friendly, always keen to answer your questions, and generally a really nice person overall. The way it was laid out was very clever, the units and the extensions (the tutor gave us some really problematic extensions, they definitely got my brain twisted!). He made it very clear when we were doing new parts of code we haven't met before, the use of comments helped a lot too! The best part about the course was having fun, and I did have fun, lots of it. Even though I didn't understand some of it, he offered me to stay after it to explain, I said yes, he then gave me a full on review and told me all about it. That absolutely helped me!
Overall this was a very fun course and I encourage lots of people to do it.

Funtech pygame course

It was a very fun five days, It was very fun to recap python, but also learn way more things with coding. I definitly will do another course some day, and even though it was a bit tricky in some places with my bad wifi, It was still understandable! But my only problems were mainly my own wifi.

Funtech MUST do more of this stuff for children!

I think FunTech is a great place to learn and apply the knowledge we already know and what we have learned. My overall review is 9.9% out of 10%, I love doing this stuff. :-D

The course is very good and the tutor quite helpful and patient in dealing with kids. The course content is well structured.

My son started working on Java coding on Khan academy while in lockdown and asked if he could get a tutor to support him. He has been with funtech before so I signed him up for the 1 week virtual camp. At first, I had doubts he would even bother waking up in the mornings and sitting through the lesson till 5pm. To my surprise, every single day he woke up, ready to go and enjoyed every part of the lesson. The tutor knew how well to engage with the students to keep them motivated. He has been working on his project, which I hope he would reveal soon. I cannot wait for the next camps. It was one of the top highlights of lockdown for him

My 11 year old son did this course and absolutely loved it! Very well run, stimulating and informative, a great way to spend 2 weeks of holiday time. Thoroughly recommend it!

My daughter (13 years old) took the Python Coder and then the Python Game Developer, each as two weeks of morning sessions. The two courses complemented each other well in that the Game Developer course picked up where the Coder course left off with minimal repetition.

Learning a programming language can be difficult without an end goal to work to, so it was good that each course culminated in a challenge to build an application. The game she devised during the Game Developer course was impressive - she was really pleased with it and enjoyed explaining how it worked to other people in the family.

Doing each camp as two weeks of half-days suited her because she found the courses quite intense and so was glad of time away from them in the afternoons. She was also impressed with the level of knowledge of the course instructors.

Altogether, the courses have provided her with a firm grounding in the basics of Python with enough knowledge to understand the structure of the language and to write quite complex routines using common commands and variable types..

Minecraft Mods virtual camp

Alexi loved doing the course. It was well organised, the teacher was punctual and it kept my son interested and stimulated for the whole morning. Alexi learned new things and feels more confident as a result. We'd definitely do a similar course if we can find the right fit for us.
