This was my son’s first residential camp and after all the lockdowns, it was a huge step for him to go away from home for a week. When I booked him onto the course, it was because he needed help with his Python because he chose Computer Science as a GCSE, however what I hadn’t anticipated was the huge life learning experience and independence gained from doing a residential course. The pastoral team were utterly amazing. They kept the kids busy in the evenings and they had loads of opportunities to mix and let their hair down after learning Python during the day. My son said he feels much more confident in his skills and when I asked him if he would do it again, he said “I think so” this is huge for him because he normally fobs me off with an “I’ll think about it” in the hope I will forget the question! This is the whole package - an absolutely wonderful experience from top to bottom. Thank you!

Minecraft coding camp

We cannot recommend this course more highly. Our son thoroughly enjoyed the course and the instructor was so good with the students, helping each of them handle each of the tasks patiently. He learnt a huge amount during the 2 weeks and we will certainly be looking to book future courses. Would 100%

My son had a brilliant week at the Tonbridge camp. The camp was really well organised, the guys running it were brilliant with the kids and seemed to have as much fun as the kids. I had forgotten to tell them one day that my son was going home with one of his friends on the course, and the camp leader called me to check it was ok as he'd heard from the boys this was happening, which I was really impressed with. My son absolutely loved the Minecraft- Modder course, he tells me he wants to go the camp every year until he's too old to go anymore! The location was fab for us, and being in an air conditioned room during the hot weather was a massive bonus! Only wish there was an option for a 4 day course, to fit around my working days.

My son enjoyed the beginner Python coding course

My son really enjoyed the course and made some friends. He made his own text based adventure game and is pretty excited about it. Looking forward to the next course.
Only one minor concern was that he had some connection issues but this was also experienced by others on the course.

Fantastic python coding course

My daughter took the beginners level python course and absolutely loved it. It was set at just the right level for her and she's keen on doing the next level.

Cyber Security Hackathon

My child really enjoyed this course. He has attended quite a few over the years eg Python, Java etc but he really loved this one. I would definitely recommend these courses.

My son attended Python Coder summer camp in Northwood and he loved it. He seems to have gained quite a bit of knowledge about Python and will definitely come back for level 2 sometime later.

3 D game design

My son really enjoyed his week of 3D game design. It went so quickly and he really looked forward to each day. He learnt a lot and ended the week with a brilliant game.

Tutor was amazing

My son loved this course, I was worried he might be a bit fed up at the end of the two weeks but he said it went by really quickly and he was completely engaged with every lesson.

AI Virtual Camp

Our son thoroughly enjoyed the AI virtual camp. The machine learning, neural networks and deep learning were explained very well.
We are therefore very pleased with this virtual camp.

My child really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot. Initially, the group was too big with not enough trainers, which made it difficult to progress. One yp had special needs and was sometimes disruptive to the rest of the group. Would have been better to have additional trainers. That being said,

Lovely skills for my 7 yo

Class was challenging at times for my 7yo as not used to focus on a class for half a day but managed through it. Some days the content seemed more interesting to her hence a good half day other times mostly at beginning she had more difficulty staying on the course topic. The trainer had immense p

The trainer had immense patience with her and the others in the class.
Warmly recommend it.

My son found Python- Level 1 easy so we had to contact Funtech in a hurry. At 9 on the following morning, the worker was very professional and kind, asking Eric a series of questions to judge his caliber for his second level. All was fine.

The teacher was nice and kind to him and he helped my son efficiently. So effectively that my son told me 'we are covering enough of Python this week to last me to next year: his final GCSE computing exam.

Funtech is worth every penny I pay. Keep up the good work

The work was well-structured and very well explained, because the class sizes were small, as promised. I thought he would be very tired, but each day he came home fizzing with energy and wanting to tell me about his achievements that day. The team sensibly supported the children to take plenty of breaks out of doors throughout the day, so there was no problem with the screen time involved. He really wants to do one again!

It was a well-balanced blend of skills teaching alongside enough free-building opportunities that she felt like she was playing more than being 'schooled'. Her speed of building improved significantly because of the new techniques she learned, enabling her to attempt more ambitious projects (e.g. the whole of Hogwarts). The team also did an excellent job of entertaining children during breaks outside, so there was no problem with eye strain or restlessness across the week. She's very keen to come back on a future camp!

The best of both worlds

My son loves Funtech courses. It keeps me happy because I know he’s having a positive educational experience and for my son he enjoys making new friends, learning and building on the computers and running and climbing about at play time. It’s the perfect mix!

Engaging and creative

Christopher has a great time. The course is very engaging and he learnt a lot in a week course. He was so excited every morning and ready for the camp.

Supportive staff and tutors. He has made new friends . I would recommend the course .

Java coder virtual camp

Andy enjoyed his java coder virtual lessons. They enhanced his skills in coding and he will use these skills to strengthen his grades in his computing classes in school. My son is enjoying the course. The teacher is enthusiastic and professional in teaching. Class size is small, so each student can receive sufficient support. The teacher frequently checked if students understand or able to follow up. I would recommend this course to my friends.

It's a great camp to introduce the python code to young children. Tutor even offered additional Q&A session to help my boy, which is very kind. It will help the children revise the new knowledge if small assignment can be provided after each session.

I think this course has been a great success for my son and although the first few days he found the content easy he soon settled in and it has cemented his knowledge which we wanted to make sure we could do. The tutor Sam impressed me as he had to deal with younger students and my son at the same time but he managed the age gap and gave my son different tasks as he realised maybe my son needed a bit more to do at times. He was professional at all times and the whole course was prompt and well managed.
We are doing 2 more courses and my son is looking forward to progressing with Funtech’s help.

A Great Experience

- I think the end of course certificate would have more value if they were handed out in class
- A car drop off facility would determine if I book a certain venue. Really don't want to seek and pay for a parking space to drop off a child

What's great;
- The administration of the course is always very thorough and timely
- The course content and topics are very engaging
- This is one of the few clubs that pre-teen/teen boys want to do, so well done in capturing that market
- I like the fact that you employ young people to run the courses. They engage better with teenagers who think they are hanging out with an older friend rather than going to school!

Cali had a wonderful time. At first we were concerned that 5 days of 9am-5pm would be too a bit too long for her to do the same thing….but how wrong were we!!! He was extremely frustrated by this but the life can be unpredictable…

My wife notified your team about this development just before the start of his course since we were hoping that he would recover faster. She was advised to get in touch with the insurance company you deal with for these matters for the reimbursement.

I hope Dima’s final recovery at home will be way faster now and he will be back to a 100% activity level very soon. He is asking about the online courses already - a very good sign! And we’ve got your update on this very recently.
