I really liked this course overall, the tutor was happy and friendly, always keen to answer your questions, and generally a really nice person overall. The way it was laid out was very clever, the units and the extensions (the tutor gave us some really problematic extensions, they definitely got my brain twisted!). He made it very clear when we were doing new parts of code we haven't met before, the use of comments helped a lot too! The best part about the course was having fun, and I did have fun, lots of it. Even though I didn't understand some of it, he offered me to stay after it to explain, I said yes, he then gave me a full on review and told me all about it. That absolutely helped me!
Overall this was a very fun course and I encourage lots of people to do it.

Funtech pygame course

It was a very fun five days, It was very fun to recap python, but also learn way more things with coding. I definitly will do another course some day, and even though it was a bit tricky in some places with my bad wifi, It was still understandable! But my only problems were mainly my own wifi.

My daughter (13 years old) took the Python Coder and then the Python Game Developer, each as two weeks of morning sessions. The two courses complemented each other well in that the Game Developer course picked up where the Coder course left off with minimal repetition.

Learning a programming language can be difficult without an end goal to work to, so it was good that each course culminated in a challenge to build an application. The game she devised during the Game Developer course was impressive - she was really pleased with it and enjoyed explaining how it worked to other people in the family.

Doing each camp as two weeks of half-days suited her because she found the courses quite intense and so was glad of time away from them in the afternoons. She was also impressed with the level of knowledge of the course instructors.

Altogether, the courses have provided her with a firm grounding in the basics of Python with enough knowledge to understand the structure of the language and to write quite complex routines using common commands and variable types..

He didn't complain about getting up in the morning to do the course and it kept him fully occupied and so taking all this into consideration I am happy. He did honestly seem to enjoy it. My husband didn't seem to encounter any problems setting the course up and working through the checklist and as with a previous course FunTech ensured we had worked through the checklist before the start date to save time.

This course was fast-paced and challenging at times but overall a great experience. It was well-explained and very interesting, and we were able to learn to program a fairly complex game, with extra time to add our own features to it.

Initially we were unsure this format would work for him, especially after 4 months of remote learning at school, but he absolutely loved it. He was keen to start every day and diligently followed the instructor. He was even offered extra time when he briefly fell behind. We thoroughly recommend Funtech for kids of all abilities!

The experience was nice as the teacher was ready to help and everyone was mostly doing the same things.

Funtech Python coder

The majority of the course was good and I learnt a lot from it. However, there were a lot of applications to install and some took a long time to install. I enjoyed creating my own sprites and sounds and the course was easy to follow.

Our son had a great time doing this online course and finished with a game which took me back to the good old Space Invaders days. The tutor, Joe, was attentive and responsive and, overall, the two weeks were a great success.

Great follow on course
