Very good, funny informative and helpful

Boring but Effective

Personally I felt that the games were a bit lacking and quite easy, but i would recommend this course for 7-10 year olds. However, it did improve my touch typing alot, and so whilst I did find it slightly boring, it does work.

BAD RIEVEW

WORST CAMP EVER, THE GAMES ARE SO BORING AND RUBBISH DO NOT COME TO THIS CAMP IT IS AWFUL. HATED THIS CAMP SO MUCH BECUASE I WAS SO BORED. THE BEST PART OF THE DAY WAS WHEN WE GOT TO GO DOWN TO THE SPORTS HALL AND PLAY FOOTBALL BUT EVEN THAT WASN'T GREAT

Our good fellows at funtech have once again provided us with a wholly satisfactory experience, which entertained me thoroughly throughout the course. Frankly, If i were to rate it against the quadratic formula of the left ventricle, it would be a solid 4.55657534545, a prestigious rating in the alternate circle theorem problem universe. Clearly, one is to compare this against the true way to eat a banana, it results in the answer to all the questions in the known universe via releasing a benevolent omnipotent AI, but more importantly, it was pretty fun.

Hackathon Review

Really enjoyed the camp, teachers were strict but good. Sometimes the course could be clearer but it was really informative with loads of content. My tutor was great. Would highly recommend to those looking for a fast-paced, informative course on hacking.

This camp was fun and I learned alot.

I learnt so much!! And joe was really funny and made every lesson fun. This was the third time im at funtech in barbican and this was good. it was something new and I had fun!!!!

i think fun tech was an amazing experience with stuff i have been doing with scratch. i have made some amazing friends and learnt so much new stuff. My tutor Mohamed was really kind. i cant wait to come back next week.

I found that this camp was overall good. The tutors (Valentin and Katy) were incredibly helpful and worked incredibly with us, helping our touch typing and being kind and humble as well. However, the software could have been improved as it became very tedious after the first few hours- especially the offline version. I thought the day was very long and lunch breaks could have been shortened as people became bored and restless towards the end of the day but going to the park and the gym was fun.

I would recommend this camp to anyone who would like to learn a helpful life skill!

I think Java Coder is great. The tutors are amazing and won't hesitate to help you if you're stuck on something, even if it's not part of the course. The difficulty is perfect as it isn't too difficult as to be impossible to understand, yet also isn't too easy as to stop the course from being challenging and engaging. The only slight inconvenience is that the website is glitchy and buggy and stops working at unexpected places.
I give Funtech a 5/5 and would definitely recommend it to a friend.

i have done this course for 4 days and have enjoyed being taught how to touch type. I could already touch type but i wanted to increase my speed. I thought that the software was not as great as it could have been just because it was quite repetitive. The teachers were really good and taught me to get rid of some bad typing habits. I was also taught by Valentine who was also very good. They were very friendly. However, the software, in my opinion was more aimed at younger ages with games based targeted at a younger audience. Overall, 9-5 might be a bit intense and quite tired, especially looking at the screens for so long. The trips to the park and the "raise the bar" really helped with that to be fair. Very good camp, could be shorter and software could improve.

This course was quite fast paced but very well written and covered some very interesting content. It showed off some of the multiple ways that hackers can use to gain unauthorised access to a computer. Every part was explained in enough detail and it was easy to get help. It could have been improved by better control of some of the kids as at points there was some quite annoying disruption. Overall I would give it 4.5 / 5.

This is the best course ever

Wasif is the best teacher ever. He taught me stuff that would take me a year to do and I managed to do it in 5 days. We didn't always just look at screens but we also got to play football as well. In all this is AMAZING :)

The course is really enjoyable and my tutor, Nadia, explained everything in a way which made even the more advanced thing seem simple. However, a lot of the course relies heavily on Fun Tech resources: a lever, a moving platform, a button, a trigger zone etc. One can not access these resources from home and therefor one can not create games as advanced as these at home. Overall it has been a great learning experience for me.

TYPEAZING

My camp at Funtech was really good. Sadly could just not rate it five because there was a few small problems I would change. Overall the typing course was great because now I know how to touch type. I also liked it because the games were so fun!!!!!!!!!

At the beginning I was a little bored because I did Python here the year earlier, but they found some interesting to do for me later. Apart from that it was lots of fun.

I did this course in one week, and i enjoyed it and learnt a lot. Although i still don't know how to fully touch type yet, i am definitely better than i was at the start of the week. If there was one thing i could improve about the course it would be to make the breaks shorter in order to finish earlier. The current time of the course is 9am-5pm, and i have seen tutors look slightly weary at the end of the day, as are the students ( well me but i'm 13 and need sleep ). I managed to have a bit of a laugh with the tutors especially Katy, as well as doing her job brilliantly she can also have a laugh and a joke with you. But overall its a good course for all ages where people are finding it difficult to type.

I really enjoyed the course and found it very useful and learned a lot. It was interesting seeing the difference between java and python as I have done python at school. Although I have have only done one of the courses I found the variety of choices really good. I like how they not only show us the coding but also the technical terms. Plus, I didn't find the work too difficult and when I did struggle the Tutors (Paul and William) Were really helpful and good at explaining it. The atmosphere was good as I felt I was learning a lot but it didn't feel like school. I like the break timing as we were able to relax in between work. And at lunch they provided games outdoor and indoor if it is raining.
I really enjoyed the course and would recommend it to a variety of ages for people who like computer science and coding. I would definitely like to do another course.
