i really enjoyed fun tech camp i got to make my own roblox game

Course was great!!!

I had lots of fun on this course, and I learnt loads of stuff. I had never done java before and only knew a bit about other coding languages (mainly HTML which didn't give me much help) but i understood the lessons well and took in loads of information. I loved how we used the code to do fun things

I had lots of fun on this course, and I learnt loads of stuff. I had never done java before and only knew a bit about other coding languages (mainly HTML which didn't give me much help) but i understood the lessons well and took in loads of information. I loved how we used the code to do fun things after we learnt the concepts. Some of my favourited mini projects were rock paper scissors (in which i thought of an alternative way of coding the outcome of the game and got it to work) coding a shopping list (in which i made the list user input based instead of hard coded) and username+password where we made two hard coded variables with the Username and password, asked the user for them. If they got it right then Access Granted in the console and Access denied if one of them was wrong. To summarise, we went over lots of different code and put them to use in fun projects

This FunTech course helped me learn the basics of developing Roblox games in Roblox Studio, i hardly knew anything about roblox studio and wanted to learn how to use it. I have come to FunTech every year for a few years and i have been playing Roblox for about the same time as that, so i decided to connect the two. I am going to continue learning how to make games on Roblox and possibly try and make my own game. This course has definitely helped me start, definitely a 5 star course if you want to learn how to code amd model on Roblox.

My son was a very reluctant participant at first, very nervous about being in a virtual classroom. However he thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt so much. He has even asked if there is an advanced level course he can attend to continue his learning.

Our 9yo daughter took a 2 week morning Roblox studio course. She had played Roblox a lot but never made any games herself. This course was a fantastic introduction. She loved it so much that she did not want to take breaks!

The instructor was excellent and there was a good balance of independent work, teaching (often via videos) and discussion. It occasionally seemed like some students dominated the conversation though - it would be good if the instructor could manage this better.

Overall, highly recommended.

Python Game Developer virtual camp

Our son had a great time doing this online course and finished with a game which took me back to the good old Space Invaders days. The tutor, Joe, was attentive and responsive and, overall, the two weeks were a great success.

Great follow on course

This was an excellent follow up course to the Python Coder. It enabled the coding skills acquired in the coding course to be utilised to create a fun game. Our son really enjoyed it.

We have been wanting our son to do a camp with FunTech for a long time but unfortunately they didn't have a location in our area. The virtual camp offering has really opened up the courses for everyone. Adam, our son, absolutely loved it and couldn't wait to join the course each day, the tutor was brilliant and Adam was enthusiastically showing me what he had done each day. One day he hadn't quite grasped the concept fully and FunTech proactively gave me a call offering a 1-2-1 session to ensure he wasn't missing out in any way, it really is a first class operation. We have already booked another camp and are looking at term time as well, we are excited to see where this goes.

Scarlett very much enjoyed her week on this course but it was marred by technical issues due to using the virtual computer we had paid extra for. These hitches resulted in her missing chunks of the course and losing all her work which definitely lessened her enjoyment. Clearer instructions or act

Clearer instructions or actually making sure that the games are kept so they can be improved on at the end of the week would have been a big plus. I was impressed with how they were able to make friends even though they weren't there in person. I thought the tutor managed well with what was clearly a difficult task to do remotely and Scarlett was grateful for the extra time she was given at the end of the day, one afternoon, when she'd missed a lot due to the technical hitches.

After a lesson in which she panicked, the Funtech team called us to offer a recap of the lesson and some extra support - this was all it took to reassure her. She has looked forward to each lesson, has learned tons and has finished the course brimming with ideas that she now knows how to put into action.
