Endless hours of fun

Our son is a huge Minecraft fan, but had never been intrigued to attend any camp until this one. He loved every second of it and is begging to take Part 2!

My 8yo loves Minecraft but I wanted his screen time to be more productive. This was the ultimate “learn through play” camp for him, and he scored it 20/10!!! I thought 3.5hrs might be too long but if his attention did wander the tutor was great at pulling him back in. We had one incident where ...

My 8yo loves Minecraft but I wanted his screen time to be more productive. This was the ultimate “learn through play” camp for him, and he scored it 20/10!!!
I thought 3.5hrs might be too long but if his attention did wander the tutor was great at pulling him back in. We had one incident where he got upset and wouldn’t talk to anyone. The tutor Christopher discreetly contacted head office who called me repeatedly until I answered. This was hugely appreciated and I felt the team really cared. I was working from home so was then able to go and get my child sorted. 200% recommend! We will be back for the advanced level camp soon.

This is definitely the best course I have ever done! The tutor was nice, and fun, and we got to make our own personalised mods. The lessons were the right pace and I never fell behind. 5 stars, Funtech !

We flew from Frankfurt to London to join the summer day camp! My husband found the fun tech camp on the internet, as we were looking for summer activities for our son. After reading the course introduction, its plan, and the previous reviews, we booked the day camp at Wimbledon King's college school. We stayed in London for 7 days. With the total price, we could have gone to a lux holiday somewhere else lying on the beach. But when we looked back, it was all worthwhile.

Our 7-year-old child has learned a lot about building mod development, switching him from the consumer to a little active developer. It was his first time that he had to use English in an English-speaking country. He has learned also to get along with all others in that environment, without the help of his parents.
The teachers and personnel were very friendly. They picked us up every morning outside at the entrance and walked with the children into the classroom. Because we are not from the UK, they talked to us in advance to see if everything was ok and talked to our son so he would not be upset on the first day. In the classroom, every child has their own desk and a laptop. It was summer, but the building was not so hot like outside. On each desk, there was a ventilator for each child to use.
The teachers are young . The children loved them and were not afraid to ask questions. On the last day, the parents would be allowed to enter in the last hours to see what children have done in the week. We were asked to bring a USB stick so we could download and transfer the bult mod at home. However, here it could have been better, if parents also got on -spot guide or practise on how to install that at home by themselves.
The children also had enough screen lock break and could play outside.
The learning place itself is very safe. No one can enter from outside. The toilettes are not so far away from the classroom. The camp environment is clean and beautiful.
The school location is easy to reach by bus 93 and walk 8 minutes. Alternatively, there are many free parking slots along side the main road or at side road. An Ice cream van was outside of the entrance every day in the late afternoon, just in time for the camp closing

Looking forward coming up

Juan had great time, enjoyed the activities and the atmonphere. He looks forward coming back on the first ocassion he may have. The team was engaged and focussed on the items that matter.

This was a very enjoyable course for my son, 7. He is interested in how things work and had a lot of fun with the other kids building mods. He loved the tutor, found him to be very helpful.

My son is generally a pretty happy and enthusiastic kid. He is also autistic and dyspraxic so I am always a bit anxious trying something new. I needn’t have worried for a second.

Everything about the FunTech holiday club was absolutely superb, from the Fasttrack registration that let me give the team a heads up about what accommodations would make the experience better for my son, through to the drop off and the set up. I have never seen him as happy.

We will definitely be back!

Felix had a brilliant time on the Minecraft Mod course. He'd never done anything like this before and we were a bit worried that it would be too much for him or not engaging enough to keep him seated but he was up at the crack of dawn every morning raring to go.

The course was well structured, age appropriate, and when things got a bit confusing his tutor was quick to reassure and help. When he accidentally deleted everything he'd created his tutor went above and beyond to recover his work for him which was much appreciated.

Felix learnt a lot, gained new confidence in creating his own characters, blocks and objects in Minecraft and has been using all his screen time since making more.

Many thanks for a great couple of weeks.
