Very good week

We started to learn about this whole "game design" concept and how it works and how to work the software called "unreal" engine , we developed our skills into making a fully fledged game

This week was a very enjoyable and productive week for me as I learnt a new area of programming I had never explored before and I really enjoyed it. I will hopefully come out with a decent game and I hope to continue making games as hobby.
My tutor, Fabian, was very helpful when it came to sorting out problems and bugs in my game and was also very good at going through the content to make it more understandble for us.
I would definately reccomend this course and FunTech to others, as it is well run and well executed.

This course is not quite as fun as i expected

Unfortuatly i felt that this course did not manage my expectations for it and i found that the lunch break was way too long and the breaks in between working times were too frequent.

Great Course, challenging but understandable

It's was really fun and we learnt pretty much every thing that we needed to learn from our course. It has helped me so much and i feel really confident now with the project I learned.

Funtech

Funtech is a realy fun camp for all ages, would really recomend it

At my funtech camp, I learnt the basics of touch typing. I found the experience very fun and I ENJOYED it very much. We played games that included typing to help us with muscle memory. We also had an abundanc of breaks which was very fun. I would definetly come back to the camp for a 4th time.

Only thing I didnt like was the time being longer than school. It was 2 hours longer than normal school. Otherwise, it was very enjoyable!!!

Ps. Would recommend to friends!!! :)

I think learning the code was interesting and the way the videos and such were formatted made it a lot easier to understand what we were doing and the teacher was very helpful for explaining what I had done wrong and how to fix it. my main problem was the length of the lessons because although we had 3 15 minute breaks a lesson it just felt like the lesson dragged on and many time I was yearning for the end of the lesson but other than that it was quite interesting to see how programming works and very satisfying when it did.

A very fun and entertaining activity!

The teacher was really nice and our course (Minecraft coding) was very interesting. We got to make games wit code and it taught us skills that we could apply to other coding games too. The other people were really nice and it was taught at a great pace so you can keep up.

The course was very informative and fun. I learnt a lot and using that knowledge at the end to create a project was very rewarding. However I found that not enough time was spend recapping the difficult topics. This made it so I had a very good understanding of most of the topics by the end but there were a few more complicated topics such as for loops which I didn't understand quite as well because not enough time was spent on them.
However, overall the course was extremely good and now that I have completed it I have a good understanding of the basics of programming.

An Amazing Lesson

i really enjoyed these lessons i learnt much more than i did at my school. The teacher helped us and explained to us everything in a way we would understand. i really liked my teacher he was nice, funny and helpful. I learnt a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Throughout the course I feel like my general python skills have improved and the whole experience has been really fun. My favourite project was Hangman which I could only do through the skills I learnt on the course. Creating graphics has been something I always wanted to do on python and now...

Throughout the course I feel like my general python skills have improved and the whole experience has been really fun.
My favourite project was Hangman which I could only do through the skills I learnt on the course.
Creating graphics has been something I always wanted to do on python and now I know how.
My funtech tutor went above and beyond to make this an awesome experience, letting us use code to make a Geometry Dash game in the final session.
Overall being on this course has been a worthwhile experience and I would like to come back for a course another time.

I found this course enjoyable and fun. I was able to learn so many things that I can do in python. I was even able to make my own game at the end of the course. I recommend this course to any beginner that wants to start using python.

Great experience for kids interested in Minecraft

This was a very enjoyable course for my son, 7. He is interested in how things work and had a lot of fun with the other kids building mods. He loved the tutor, found him to be very helpful.

A good experience overall of the Roblox - Game Developer camp

It was my son's first time of attending a coding camp with Fun Tech. He found his tutors fun and enjoyed the structure of the day. There were good break periods, however, from Weds - Friday the space they had to run around in after lunch was restricted which meant they spent more time on screen...

It was my son's first time of attending a coding camp with Fun Tech.
He found his tutors fun and enjoyed the structure of the day. There were good break periods, however, from Weds - Friday the space they had to run around in after lunch was restricted which meant they spent more time on screens than they should have.
Finally, I think given the cost of the course that a USB should be given to children, it is just a small token, but takes the pressure of having to remember and ensures that children get to take their work home.

My daughter Eirinn (11) did the Daytime Camp Roblox Game Developer course in August. I asked her what she thought of it and she said, "It was really cool. I learned a lot of stuff that I didn't know before. The instructors were very kind and helpful and explained things very well. I liked everything Dad". We travelled over from Northern Ireland for this and rolled it into a little Father and Daughter bonding holiday in London. Money well spent.

We would certainly consider signing her up for another one next year, although I'd like to see FunTech consider offering camps like this in Northern Ireland and the Republic.

I cannot speak highly enough about FunTech. What an absolutely awesome company that helps children and teens with coding and tech. They have a range of courses (although you have to book early) that I wish I had when I was younger. But my ten year old daughter joined for a two week's session ...

I cannot speak highly enough about FunTech. What an absolutely awesome company that helps children and teens with coding and tech.

They have a range of courses (although you have to book early) that I wish I had when I was younger. But my ten year old daughter joined for a two week's session on 3D Game Designing using Unreal Engine over the summer and she loved it.

She has been learning python coding since she was six so it was nice for her to do something different. And even though she had a wobble in the middle of the course, the company was absolutely fantastic and supported her with some one to one private lessons to get her to the end.

My daughter wrote: "To Connor. Thank you for giving me 1 to 1s to help me understand Unreal Engine. I really appreciate it. I am really happy with the end result of my game and I am hoping to add many more levels and upgrade my current ones to make my game way more interesting."

@Sheineez Barber I applaud you for setting up such an awesome company and excellent customer service.

As a result, I have shared with many friends and I will book Georgie onto her next course soon and every year from here on. 10 out of 10...

I couldn't recommend this company highly enough.

We were so grateful that my son Krish got the opportunity to experience the residential camp at Tonbridge - Hackathon Cybersecurity.

The venue is stunning and it is a wonderful experience to learn in such a beautiful setting. Krish has been a student of term time classes with Funtech for a number of years.

I can truly say that Funtech is more than a corporate entity, everyone, all the staff, from the helpers to the Founder Sheineez genuinely care for the children and it is very refreshing to see and exceptionally reassuring as a parent. I could leave Krish with the confidence and full faith that he will be safe and engaged during his week long stay at Hackathon.

Krish was excited by what he learnt coupled with the confidence he gained from making new friends. I would love Krish to attend more camps and my only regret is we did not send him sooner!

My son is generally a pretty happy and enthusiastic kid. He is also autistic and dyspraxic so I am always a bit anxious trying something new. I needn’t have worried for a second.

Everything about the FunTech holiday club was absolutely superb, from the Fasttrack registration that let me give the team a heads up about what accommodations would make the experience better for my son, through to the drop off and the set up. I have never seen him as happy.

We will definitely be back!

Felix had a brilliant time on the Minecraft Mod course. He'd never done anything like this before and we were a bit worried that it would be too much for him or not engaging enough to keep him seated but he was up at the crack of dawn every morning raring to go.

The course was well structured, age appropriate, and when things got a bit confusing his tutor was quick to reassure and help. When he accidentally deleted everything he'd created his tutor went above and beyond to recover his work for him which was much appreciated.

Felix learnt a lot, gained new confidence in creating his own characters, blocks and objects in Minecraft and has been using all his screen time since making more.

Many thanks for a great couple of weeks.

My son enjoyed his week long residential camp with Funtech at Tonbridge. He learned a lot and from my perspective the camp was very well organised. While it's not Funtech's fault that some children are disruptive to the point of impacting negatively other participants' experience, nevertheless Funtech staff should be trained to deal with such situations. My son said there was virtually no discipline, and one particular child's behaviour was completely out of order to the point of extremely inappropriate, yet he was allowed to carry on like that through out the week. This would be the main area of improvement I would recommend.

My son had a great time at the Python camp. He learned a lot and wishes to continue at the next occasion. Tonbridge school is an amazing place to stay and the accommodation and the food were good, he said. The teachers and staff are qualified and pay attention to any boys’ needs. Thank you to all.
