I really learnt a lot within the five days. The teachers Jamie and Theo are very patient and sit down with you and help you. You don't only just write the code you also understand it. We have videos that explain a lot and sometimes a bit too much. After each video there is a challenge which we have to do, if we finish the challenge we work on our own project like hangman or an Adventure Game. On Wednesday we have a mid week review where Jamie and Theo listen to queries and improvements. In a summary the amount I learnt in one day was probably equal to what I learnt in one week in school. This is a great course.

The Java Coder course was awesome. Learnt loads of stuff and made a hangman game!!!! The teachers were really helpful and explained everything well, and the videos were easy to follow. If you finished the tasks early, there was time to do your own project, so it didn't get boring. Plenty of time to run around at lunch. If you are going to do this course, it might be a good idea to bring a notebook to write things down in, so you don't forget the information you learn, but it isn't essential. Would definitely recommend.
n.b. I am a 14 year old girl.

Funtech Summer Course

I really liked java coding at funtech

Epic camp

The coding camps was fun and awesome. I learnt lots and lots of coding. The teachers were helpful and full of advice if you are stuck.It Was Epic!!!

Funtech was very good!

I found this course very good but some of the videos covered too much in one go. The teachers were very good but were sometimes a little strict. I think that there is a lack of free time on the computers. Apart from those things it was a very good course.

Epic!

This was an awesome course and I learned a very useful skill. I had a lot of fun and the tutors were amazing. It was very hard but it was fun and worth the effort. Thanks!

They have had a wonderful time; everything was perfectly organized up to the detail; staff made everything easy; teachers where excellent connecting with kids, my kids made nice progress in computing, they made friends,... Now they dream to do another course next year!. Highly recommendable!!!

Animation Review

This year, when I went to Funtech , I did Animation and it was amazing!

AWESOME!!!!!

I loved being there and also being able to play and learn on the computer!

I really enjoyed my week on the Animation course. My favourite part was creating my own characters to add to my animations. I would really like to go again.

Wonderful

At funtech, I learned how to make a robot tackle a maze , make an etch a sketch etc . I will go to funtech again .Tom (our tutor) was wonderful. score 10/10

I have recently attended the Java coder and in a week I have learnt more than some students learn in a year. It was interesting, creative and a effective way to learn a new programming language, which can be every difficult. In funtech if you have a question or don't understand something, they will try and cover it from all the angles possible to make sure the student understands. I would highly recommend this course to all children or teenagers wanting learn a basic grasp of java coding.

From the first day I was engaged and interested in the course that I was doing (Java). I highly recommend for anyone looking to learn coding. Very clear explanations were given, I absolutely loved it.

Java coder was really fun however it was a lot of hard work and I could not have learnt the programming code without the help FunTech and my teacher this was a really good. Fun week and I hope the next camp will be as fun.

We are so pleased to have found FunTech for our 12 year old son who has wanted to learn computer programming and game design for a long time. FunTech staff really understand what children want to learn and how to teach them in a way that inspires them. Our son loves his weekly C# programming with Jaz, and his summer camp in Maidenhead was the highlight of his summer. We have been well advised on which courses to take and feel our son is now en-route towards the career in IT that he aspires to.

Our son, William, spent a wonderful week at FunTech. There was not a bad moment throughout the entire time. He was actively engaged from start to finish. He was appropriately challenged, as well. His teachers were patient and always age appropriate.

William had a fantastic time at your wonderful camp. He met some fun friends and learned some awesome skills. You do a great job teaching your information to a difficult age group and I applaud you!
