super fun 5 star

The tutors were really nice and helpful. The course was really helpful and helped me understand python. I enjoyed doing else-if statements and my quiz. Hamza was a very good tutor, Aidan was very helpful and Lewis (the computer) was very supportive!

Funtech is an amazing place where you are free to play on computers without your parents nagging you to get of the internet. I loved all the things that they do and the tutours are so nice to me. this place in reading is a really friendly place with kind people who care about us.I rated 5 stars because I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it so much and I will miss my friends when its time to stop it. I have loved making mods with the tutours and making new friends but my favourite part of it was when we made our ghost blocks and when we defeted the enderdragon in minecraft.

Minecraft with Mods

I really have liked this course.
my favourite part was defeating the ender dragon in the end followed by creating my own biome.

AMAZING

An amazing camp that I would come to again

This was the first holiday camp I have been to so I am unsure of how good Funtech is compared to other camps.
I had expected writing a lot of code and gaining a great understanding of it. In some ways this was achieved as the camp definitely gave me an interest in Java coding and has made me want to continue progressing my coding skills after the week. I personally think that this made the course worth while but I had been hoping to be focussing more on learning hard code than just enjoying time playing games or doing basic coding. Yes, of course one does need to start with the basics and this was good but I had expected that, for so much money, I would at least have a chance to become a bit more of a pro with Java.
One of the main reasons I say this is because we would finish all of the content planned for that day at about lunchtime or slightly afterward. This meant that we spent quite a lot of time on making games (which was very fun and was good practice) that could have been spent on possibly learning more code and progressing our knowledge.
Overall, price aside, the camp was great. There was a good balance between having fun and learning code despite the fact that I would have liked to learn slightly more.
The staff were all very nice; especially our teacher 'Kevin'.
In conclusion, a big thank you to Funtech. It was a fun week and gave me a good interest and foundation to Java.

Funtech was an amazing experience and I learned a huge amount about the game-making-industry and Unreal Engine. They provided great help when I needed it and I enjoyed making my games. I would highly recommend this course.

At first I did not know what to expect. Since I spent a whole week at the camp I have enjoyed every day of camp since I have learnt more parts of the code language than I would probably have learnt in a few weeks into GCSE. I would extremely recommend this for students going into GCSE to do this ...

At first I did not know what to expect. Since I spent a whole week at the camp I have enjoyed every day of camp since I have learnt more parts of the code language than I would probably have learnt in a few weeks into GCSE. I would extremely recommend this for students going into GCSE to do this course since you will get a head start in CS or Coding. I think the Tutors are interactive and are helpful at all points of the week. Everyone that goes usually has things in common with other coders so the students that go usually make friends their easily.

The Python course is really fun and useful especially with our teacher Abul you learn all the basics and put it into your work however I think that the days are too long and they should end a bit shorter..

Based on our experience, I think it is highly likely that I will be looking at FunTech again as a solution to school breaks in the future.

My only comment, which has nothing to do with the course itself, but more with the overall organisation is that the venue where the course is held is currently a building site and that causes a certain level of concern with regards to the possibility of accidents.

Thank-you for raising this. When we signed up with the school for the summer, we were not made aware that such major building works were going to be in progress. We have spoken with the school and are monitoring it closely. We send extra staff to this locaion to simply ensure that children don't explore the building area.

On the first day I was a bit tired but gradually after the days I ended up enjoying it

It was fun building the robot

But it was a bit tricky, but Nathan helped me a bit

It's good but when the robot doesn't do what it should do it gets annoying because it doesn't do what the program does.

Really like programming, buuilding was fun but struggled a bit

Would like to continue doing programming for the rest so I can complete the maze. I want to come next year.
