Really enjoyed learning how to develop my 3D game

I really enjoyed doing the coding over the Easter break. I did the course with my sister and it was great fun working on our games.
I am looking forward to continuing to practise what I learnt on this course and hopefully doing another course soon.

Fantastic use of time

I really enjoyed doing the coding over the Easter break. I liked that the classes were held in the morning so I could still enjoy my Easter holidays in the afternoon.

Caring staff

My child enjoyed the programme very much. What impressed me was when my child was late in attending one morning, one of the staff quickly called to check/remind.

I hope the residential camp would reopen soon.

3D Game Design

My 11 year old son loved this and was very excited about his design. The tutor, Connor, was very friendly and informative. He also was great at helping us set up the Virtual Window at the start of the first session. Overall highly recommended!

Great course

My son loved the 3D game designer course. He’s 12 and it was just right for him. The tutor guided the children through how to use the software and helped them with anything they got stuck with when designing their own games. The perfect course for creative minds!

There are three things i would like to say:

- The course should either include blender or there should be a separate blender course

- We should get more help with making our game

- We should have more time to make our game

But overall the course was great!

a good lesson

it was a good 2 week course.the tutor was doing his job helping us all and even showed me how to make turrets so if you would ask me wether i should suggest or not i would because they make you learn something u never knew before

The course was brilliant and I loved every second of it! The tutor was so funny and happy and always answered our questions, he explained things clearly and realised where we went wrong in an instant. Overall it was a very good course, but there was 8 people, so sometimes you had to wait quite a while until the tutor gets to you, but I don't really mind, that's just how it works - I didn't mind waiting. So yeah, it was a superb course and the tutor made it even better!

An amazing two weeks

the full course in total was rated 9999999999999999999999999999999999999/10 to good, I loved spending time with a few kids that liked the course and some people to talk to, I enjoyed testing my game and building in it. Especially viewing other people's projects and ideas

INSANE COURSE

i enjoyed learning blueprints because it was like a mix of block coding and text coding and the final products you can make are endless.

This well structured course was very good for teaching me the basics of Unreal and giving a great base understanding of the engine so I can carry on creating and learning on it. The course is suited for people who are new to programming which is great but bare in mind if you do other programming languages, you might find some parts easier then others. Overall a good course and I found that asking questions is very good to enjoy the course more and getting more comfortable with unreal. Funtech listen to feedback given by the students, which is another great addition to course as the course is constantly improving.

The 3D game design course is really fun, and doesn't take up too much time. since we only do 3 hours a day ( for 2 weeks of working days) the sessions are pretty relaxed and i don't feel bored throughout the lesson. I personally think that it would be impossible to learn unreal engine without a tutor ; there was so much detail that even now there are still thing i don't know! the tutors are really nice, and if you ever have any issues with your group. or your stuck. The tutors will always do their best to support you. I highly recommend this course because i will remember this knowledge for ever!

Very Fun!

This camp was really enjoyable and fun to do. Doing it online was interesting and I really enjoyed it. The tutor will always help you if your stuck and they are really nice. I would recommend this course for ages 9-14.

Funtech camp experiance

I enjoyed this course alot and felt that I learned alot of cool new aspects of programming in unreal engine, from scripting to creating awesome new landscapes and simple side scroller games. I really appreciate all the work our teacher put in to help us learn.

Fun and Educational

I thought that this course was very educational and taught me a lot about how to use Unreal Engine. At times the lesson would move a bit slow but then pick up its pace again. Other than that the course was overall fun and enjoyable.

My son has never undertaken a holiday course like this before and absolutely loved it. The small group meant he had just the right balance of contact and interaction with others but allowed him to get on and work independently too.
He was excited to get stuck in and took great pride in showing us the start of his own 3D game at the end of the week.
The FunTech team were brilliant with any questions and concerns we had, and kept him engaged all week.
I can highly recommend the course to anyone. At 13 he is hard to please, but you guys managed it! Thanks

I think FunTech is a great place to learn and apply the knowledge we already know and what we have learned. My overall review is 9.9% out of 10%, I love doing this stuff. :-D

This course helped me in many ways on making 3d games. It teaches you how to make game logic, level design and landscaping. 3D Game Design October Half Term

Made me very interested in 3D game design using Unreal Engine. I really enjoy designing the maps and I found Lewis's help very useful. I will have spent 30 hours on my work. I really enjoyed doing the functions on blueprints.

In a word FunTech is FUN.

My 11 year old son did this course and absolutely loved it! Very well run, stimulating and informative, a great way to spend 2 weeks of holiday time. Thoroughly recommend it!

My son really enjoyed being able to do the course from home although as a parent I would have liked him to have got to know the other students on the course, I would imagine they are like-minded people with similar interests.

My son says that he enjoyed experimenting with the props the best and enjoyed the whole experience of the doing the course online. He especially liked the fact that he could work in the mornings and have the afternoon off.

The course was expensive but I didn't mind, especially as I could use childcare vouchers. It felt like money well spent.

It would have been great if this course was the start of some kind of qualification in 3D gaming design as I can see my son doing the next level of this course next Summer or on the next holiday. It would be great if he could eventually gain a qualification from doing a series of courses over a number of holidays or years (similar to ballet where the RAD grades are equivalent to GCSE grades which go higher the more grades you do (grade 1 being equivalent to a D or E at GCSE) - young people can then use these qualifications on their CV when applying for their first jobs).

My 13 year old son had a great time on the course, he liked the tutors and said they were very helpful and fun to learn from. The content of the course was good and my son came away with a racing game he developed and which he continues to play with and amend.
